Types of Mills for the Ceramic Industry
At Indusal, we offer a variety of products for the ceramic industry, as well as equipment for the treatment and purification of industrial wastewater. In this post, we’ll explain the different types of mills for the ceramic industry that we manufacture at Indusal.
Wet Process Mills
This type of mill allows companies to grind a wide range of raw materials used in mineralogy, ceramics, glazes, certain varnishes, and more. The result is an optimal particle size distribution and a homogeneous product.
The term “wet process” refers to the preparation of clays with a moisture content higher than 12%. Depending on cost and available space, the degree of moisture and abrasion of the clays, and the desired grinding quality, clients can choose among different materials and equipment.
Dry Process Mills
This type of mill features an enclosing housing that facilitates material discharge. The housing also includes rubber seals designed to prevent material loss.
These dry process mills are developed for grinding and refining raw materials such as quartz, feldspar, and limestone. Depending on each company’s production requirements, we can also provide continuous mills (explained below).
Continuous Dry Process Mills
This equipment is designed for grinding abrasive products such as silica sand, quartz, feldspar, zirconium, and others. It is a continuous process composed of a ball mill, feeding system, classifier, cyclone, and bag filter.
The mill operates with different types of liners depending on the material to be ground. Additionally, the classifier is designed to achieve the desired product fineness for each process.
Clay crushing through this method is more effective with dry and hard clays, as wet clays absorb part of the impact energy and reduce process efficiency.
At Indusal, we offer various grinding systems and models to provide the most suitable solution for the characteristics of each product. If you still have any questions after reading this post, you can contact us — we’ll be happy to assist you.
